The Sigilian Times
Price: 3 Stingers.

Third Clerk of Regula, 712CE

REV. LEAGUE STRIKES AGAIN!

Guildhall Ward - Sigil. The anarchist upsurge in activity continues. Two counting houses run by the Guvners for the purposes of taxes were bobbed last night by an elite team of Revolutionary League thieves. A spokesman for the Harmonium stated the loss to the city coffers is significant and wage payments to some low ranking Harmonium and Mercykillers may have to be deferred for the month.

This newspaper understands that the recent catalogue of disasters in the campaign against the revolutionaries mean that morale amongst the city guard is low. Rumours continue to sweep the city that a new Anarchist Factor is behind this new strategy of hitting the forces of law and order where it hurts the most - in their pockets.

MODRONS EXPERIENCE CRASH

Clerk's Ward, Sigil – Rumors abound of some serious issues that Recorders are having with their modron assistants at the Hall of Records. Several modrons have been employed at the Hall of Records to keep tabs on the location of the vast numbers of documents contained within. Those that work with the modrons admit to becoming quite dependant upon their ability to quickly locate requested documents thanks to their efficient manner of indexing files. The boxes have been acting oddly of late, and regardless of the request keep delivering files related to a historic court case involving corruption in the city guard.

GITHZERAI EMBASSY IN FLAMES

Seperately, on 3rd Ladies, the fire reported by less well lanned newspapers was in fact caused by some kind of bomb, which resulted in dozens of casualties. Sods present describe the culprit as some kind of Githzerai zealot who screamed some kind of barkle before running into the building whilst carrying a large metal object. Our sources say that representatives of the Limbo government will be decidedly more scarce in the cage until the situation settles, the unconfirmed chant is that some internal power struggle may be going on behind the scenes. More on this when we have it...

TANARRI SEIZE CONTROL OF KEY PORTALS

In a seemingly monumental move, Tanar’ri forces grabbed control of the hotly contested hill in Othrys known as the Stones of Draetilus. Although located in one of the most inhospitable swamps in the multiverse, the Draetilus stones have remained one of the most coveted prizes in the Blood War. These stones reportedly act as powerful portals to numerous realms and burgs throughout the multiverse. Governor Tenemus Al Karak, second librarian of the Vault of Knowledge, said that historical records indicate the stones open conduits to strategic places in Mungoth (on the 3rd layer of Gehenna), the Prime and even onto the Cage itself. In local news, chant of the battle touched off a brawl in the Lower Ward late this afternoon.

This is an OOC thread. Three months have passed. Respond here with what your character is doing over this period and any plans in response to the above, or any other general admin. Feel also free to email me about more private plans! More time will be advanced and another edition of this quality paper will be delivered before we begin so there will be one more opportunity to get stuff done.

D&D 3.5 - Planescape 2011 - The Sigilian Times, Regula 712CE Empty Re: D&D 3.5 - Planescape 2011 - The Sigilian Times, Regula 712CE

Post by ^^Truth 13th February 2011, 6:48 am

After the underdark experience, rushing about trying to help Elvanshalee for a week and multiple assassin attacks, Ruby decides to take it easy for a bit.

She spends a lot of her time relaxing at the Great Gymnasium, hoping the Ciphers aren't too annoyed (and hopefully understanding about her snap decision), although not particularly wanting to be alone she makes sure Zamael or Tza'rok are accompanying her at all times (preferring both). She mostly spends her time relaxing in saunas, light swimming and paying for massages.

Unconcerned about sitting around nude in the saunas with one or both of the boys, she secretly hopes that her exposure to Zamael may lessen his often uncouth staring at herself and other females, although if successful suddenly realises that she rather likes the leering of men (and women) and half regrets her lesson.

In the evenings she spends her time around the Civic Festhall happy to be with the tee-total Zamael for protection and the chirpy Githzerai for fun times (and protection yet again).

After a ten day week of relaxing in the mornings and decadence in the evenings, she gets off her backside and begins to become a little more productive again, shopping around the Grand Bazaar for items she wants to buy and sell, whilst loosely exploring the possibilities of new accommodation.

As events unfold, it being her line of work, she sets of the motions to explore any and all current events to try to stay up to date and in the dark, happily selling or passing on information that comes to her ears unless it's significant. She also decides to rent the kip on 231 Bailey Court and turns it over as a safe house and accommodation for some of her older girls to use if they need it or anyone that the harmonium are trying to currently scragg. She pays a year up front.

Purchasing and selling equipment, Ruby then turns her attention and puts down a large deposit on a four-story Victorian styled townhouse in the Guildhall Ward. She then begins to move much of her old stuff from her home in the Lower Ward over to her new abode and turns her old home into more of a workshop and place to store the nick-nacks she doesn't want laying around her new legit home.

Once everything is in order she then holds a house warming garden party at new her home, inviting along Zamael and Tza'rok, along with some of her other choice "friends", such as Lady Harmony, Delegate Rowan Darkwood and the Crimelord Dust (even though she doubts he would attend). An invite is extended to some others such as Zuizz, Emra and if possible Elvanshalee, if she is willing to risk it. Of course Silth is invited, although she doubts he'll want to (but think he may if only to snoop about).

During the evening, she speaks to Lady Harmony and informs her that she has decided to join the Believers of the Source and her resources are now the factions resources and they only have to ask. She doesn't quite explain what her resources are however, although informs her that they're wide, varied and it costs nothing to ask.

She informs anyone that wishes to stay the night is welcome to take up room in her house, privately informing some of the more inclined, such as Lady Harmony, Tza'rok and Rowan, that once the party is finished, the "real party" does begin, although makes sure everyone knows in private. After the last not inclined leaves, the night swifty turns into a middle-classed drug fuelled sex-orgy.

She does however when privately speaking to the Crimelord Dust, if he attends of course, that he's welcome to stay for the after party, but subtly puts across the message that were he a young lad again, he may have a much better time.

She passes more time from here onwards. Informing Zamael that he's welcome to use her old house as his home in Sigil if he wishes, but she would be happy for him to remain living with her, privately still concerned about attempts on her life and happy with the Yugoloth Lieutenants killing prowess, despite his worrying mannerisms.

After moving a lot of her goods, she then uses her large diamond to run a series of confidence scams (small amounts) in an attempt to get her a little more of a wedge and then finally sells the diamond quickly after the last so that anyone trying to locate it finds someone else.

She then potters around, mixing her time between her friends and contacts, her new faction (trying to create new ammunitions and brew poisons) and working alongside and with her organisation.

She does however hold monthly parties at her grand new home, inviting much of the same people, but letting them bring along one guest per invite as long as there's enough room, they're discreet and of the correct mindset.

D&D 3.5 - Planescape 2011 - The Sigilian Times, Regula 712CE Empty Re: D&D 3.5 - Planescape 2011 - The Sigilian Times, Regula 712CE

Post by Tromador 14th February 2011, 2:09 am

Aside from the inevitable partying with Ruby, Tza'rok takes this opportunity to make time to reflect and catch up on the more mundane aspects of his life.

For now at least, his responsibilities in the society, however dull are a welcome change to the endless struggles to survive, running, fighting and killing and a positive reminder that he does actually have a life beyond sharp edge of Dreamer's blade. He spends time in the Festhall, trying to impress upon the more hedonistic Sensates that experience isn't just about the drug of the week and helping those who show a spark of 'getting it' to find new and interesting experiences of their own. He paints and records more memory stones for the faction, an activity which helps him to make sense of and peace with recent events.

Increasingly concerned for Sir Orison, he looks to make arrangements to get him access to a portal to Mount Celestia, in the hope that he will be happier in the ultimate realm of Law and Goodness, rather than the ultimately neutral burg of Sigil, where ethics and morality fluctuate to suit the circumstances.

He starts to hang out a bit more with other Githzerai, talking about Zerthimon to those who care to listen and of *knowing* oneself.

When the Githzerai embassy is bombed, in disgrace or no, he offers his services to help with the clean up, searches for survivors and the like.

Finally, he spends some of the jink from the raid on the Efreeti residence to gather a couple of items of use to himself.

Meanwhile, his mental powers continue to grow...

((Sorry for late reply ... not been ignore you lot. had stuff to do and such like,

Yerhan has decided to stick around in Sigil for a time, going against his better judgment to go back to Ebberon and seek more work. He has a quick look around at the advertisment for the kip to rent and decides than it's probably a good idea that he takes it on as living upstairs from a Bar is not exactly a good idea for his health or his finances. He awaits word on his application.
He spends a bit of time scouting around a bit looking for any sort of talk about the contract on Ruby's head and puts the feelers out throuhg a few contacts he knows and trusts around the city but mostly, he just sits in his bed-sit and reads books and parchements on portals and passagways to the other planes.

((Short, yeah but he's not really the sociable type and likes his books too much.
((Changed it slightly for Iain's mail comment Razz

Ruby

You change accommodation and have a successful house warming. Some representatives of significant people turn up, Lady Harmony, Dust's accountant, which surely is the first step to being a known as a blood in Sigil.

The Believers of the Source are very happy to have you, and instantly direct you down the route of recruitment, with Lady H as your mentor early on. You estimate it will be a year before you make a named rank but after that progress could be swift...

Zamael divides his time between a spartan room on the 1st floor of your new house, and another kip he has rented somewhere, although it seems he isnt ever present in Sigil either, going missing a week at a time without much explanation, which is worrying frankly.

(There are undisclosed events too which I will mail about privately.)

Tza'rok

You get to the bottom of the strife in the Githzerai, and become a source of information for the new departed Githzerai leadership in Limbo. The rebels are elusive though, and your efforts to even speak with one have so far failed. You have a new contact, a Female spy known as Mlara, who is perusing the criminals responsible for the recent pair of bombings. You pass what you get to her but you sense the investigation is difficult.

In your day life, the Society of Sensation offer to elevate you to the status of Factortum, with responsibility for guiding other factioneers in their inner understanding.

Yerhan

You find a new case in the lower ward, its secure enough for you and is above a Zu'ling blacksmiths specialising in cold forged iron. The rent is cheap and the fact its not in a bar helps with your sobriety. You learn a few snippets about the contract out on Ruby but as far as you can tell, while its still out there, no-one is actively persuing it currently. Your list of contacts and persons who know a thing or two in the cage grows to a respectable level over time, making you feel less clueless.

Four months have passed...

Price: 3 Stingers.

The Third Void of Accordant 713CE

STOP PRESS... KEY TERRORIST SCRAGGED!

Lower Ward - Sigil - Inspector Pelak of the Harmonium announces the capture of the Anarchist kingpin attributed as responsible for the latest outrages against the lawful forces of the city. In a tightlipped statment, the inspector would only confirm that a man known by the alias'Ryan', who also is chief suspect in a number of outstanding crimes has been scragged in a late night raid on a premises in the Lower Ward, at an armoury known for stocking large quantities of Gunpowder. It is expected his trial will be conducted quickly and behind closed doors so as to remove any opportunities for his escape.[/size]

YUGOLOTH HIGH-UP DEADBOOKED

Torch, Outlands - Shocking news from Torch on Outlands! Maelkith, a yugoloth general, has been assassinated during his stay in the burg! What's more, the scriber was caught red-handed as he was pulling his stiletto free from the fiend's neck The piscoloth guards easily overwhelmed the surprised assassin - a cuprilach rilmani, who refused to give his name. He remains tight-lipped and the only words he spoke were "the balance has been restored".

ARTIFACT IN THE CAGE?

Greybeards report disruptions in the flow of magical energies in the cage, large enough to only be explained by the addition of an ARTEFACT in the last six months. Many cutters in the know dismiss this as bub talk and wishful thinking but should it be true it raises interesting questions... Did the lady, for the first time in centuries, allow one in? Or does she even know about it? Does she care!? But the most interesting would surely be...Who has it?. Any canny bloods who know any more dark of this are invited to contact this newspaper for a handsome reward...
