Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
ok, that was nice and quick to do, note to self, make PCs that need no additional rules... hopefully i havent made any mistakes, im sure you fellas will help me out on that front.
ah, and the armour IMO is just a tad unrealistic, we'll have to ignore that, my excuse is im on a bit of a deadline and the pic is close enough to what i was after.
i think ill try and sort it out in the description.

Slaaaaaaaaag
You didn't write your second feat down. Looks alright to me anyway, see how this uber-slapper pans out in game.

Also HP are wrong. Max HP for first 3 levels, means she don't have to roll.
And yes, she is clearly the whore of babylon.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
I guess I would interpret as
Benefits: Because they believe that all things have potential, Godsmen are generally well received throughout the planes. +2 on Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information & Charisma checks when dealing with planar beings.
Restrictions: In addition to the restrictions on priests. Godsmen can't be raised or resurrected by any means. However, they can automatically be reincarnated as a player character race (of the DM's choice).
I take the reincarnation not to mean they auto-reincarnate upon death, but if they are the lucky recipient of a reincarnation spell, they come back as something reasonable and not a fucking badger or some shit like that.

Except intimidate, which was what I was really saying.
You might be well liked by planars, but intimidating isn't about being nice.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
How about instead of that, allowing the PC to take a 10 on social checks as a standard roll action. Would give them universally more favour and +2 doens't really mean much in 3.5, when +2 meant a lot in 2E.
Also, the negative is fine, but I ... nah, I think it should stay actually, but maybe a miracle spell should work as a raise dead/resurrection if used.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
Take 10 if you like, though still not intimidate. Or +2 on the rolls, either is fine for me - let Mike pick the one he prefers.
And I vote no to the miracle. The no raising/rezzing is a bit of a downer, but they have an improved reincarnate to soften the blow.
This restriction reflects the philosophy of the Godsmen. Raise dead and similar all require the willing participation of the subject's soul. The magic works exactly as it should, but a Godsman won't want to come back, instead they will look to the next turn on the wheel, another chance at ascension.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
I understand why it's raised dead/resurrection, which is why I didn't suggest scrapping it in the first place. The idea was that the soul could be forced back to life with the miracle spell.
Lets face it, it's 9th level. Resurrection is like 7th still. So you need a minimum 17th level cleric with wisdom 19 for it even to be possibility.
Anyhow, not fussed, was just an idea.
This PC is currently a Dark Elf, that's ECL -2, what happens if they're transformed into a goblin, for example? Do they get the levels back or are they stuck at ECL -2?
Would be cruel to say they're stuck at -2 ECL forever because of the starting race, but weird if they suddenly got lots more spells and better at fighting because they turnt into an inferior race.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
A miracle spell relies on the intervention of one's deity to create the effect you seek to achieve. This brings up two questions, number one will your deity be willing to assist, perhaps infringing into the domain of some other deity and secondly, will whichever power is responsible for the care of the soul be willing to allow your deity to ram it back into life against the soul's will.
The reincarnation/ECL question is actually a generic one. Anyone with ECL, not just a Drow Godsman can be reincarnated and we have had reincarnations before. In actual fact, we need to consider this in the wider picture, outside of the context of a particular character's faction weakness. We'd have the same question if Tza'rok happened to fall to a reincarnation spell.

Re: Elvanshalee Daevion'lyr
oik. fair enough fellas.
ill suck up the res/raise dead thing, my only request is that the reincarnation is something i get to discuss with the dm at the time and have some input into.
for simplicity's sake ill go +2 social (excluding intimidate), i like randomness and would be a shame if i got to rule out the chance of a 1 when chatting to some marilith or something.
finally, any dramas if i switch that last feat which ive not used yet?
not sure i want to go down the school focus road road now. in fact, ive changed it, lemmie know if theres a problem.
