Btw. If you use the last picture. I'd smash the STR/CON up some more and smash the DEX.
No way does that guy have a decent dex, also, he's a fucking giant beef cake with muscles on his muscles.
DEX : 10
CON : 19
Perhaps.

Remember. He wears the apron because he doesn't want to get his armour dirty
Re: Desert of Desolation - Vernon Strugg
Gonna state a few things here, but do with it whatever you want.
Preferred the "feel" of the PC with INT7. Raising to 8 sorta seems cheapish (more skill points, same CON bonus). Also, having 19 CON would allow you to get either 8 INT, 20 STR or 20 CON at 8th level which would have been nice for you.
Thought the H.Xbow specialisation was nice, the swap to exotic (repeater) obviously makes sense because I brought this up with Mike, but I don't think necessary and starting with all the gear you need to level up with takes away from DMs handing out special gear.
Do you think 200 Xbow bolts is a bit over the top? (just noticed the bag of holding, ignore).
What was wrong with the breastplate armour? Your AC is a bit low now? I realise you'd lose evasion with the breastplate mind.
I think, for everyone to note for a later houserule is that. If you're starting a multiclass character, the class with the most levels counts as the 1st level in it (for HP, skills etc).
Does everyone realise that 3/4 PCs have filthly clothing? It could be a party trend

Re: Desert of Desolation - Vernon Strugg
Fair point about the int/con. Was going to tweak the PC more today anyway, so have changed back to 19/7 split, but may change back after some thought. I mean, in the end I could just make the exact same basic PC as a human and get a far better result, mechanically. After all, +2 Str isn't really worth getting -2 in both Cha and Int, especially since I'm making an archer. Even though they're both at 7/8 right now, point-wise I spent 10/9 in each. Just saying.
Swapped to repeater because, mechanically, it's just plain better. Full round reload after every shot is ass, and even with rapid reload feat, that's a move action per reload, whereas repeater allows for 5 shots before a full-round reload, which is better in a bunch of ways, really.. Compared to a bow, crossbows are crap anyway. Bought the MW heavy crossbow because I had like nothing else I wanted to buy.
No idea how quickly/slowly I'll be going through bolts, so decided to go on the crazy side of ammunition hoarding.
While I wanted the breastplate, I had to go with the chain shirt because I didn't have enough money in the end to buy it. I wanted to get the most out of my allowed money, which either resulted in a huge amount not spent, or being 50 over. Magnifying glass is 100, even though I want it for pretty much novelty purposes. I figure a breastplate is easier to find/purchase than a magnifying glass. Didn't even think about evasion/uncanny dodge/dex-based rogue stuff. He's not exactly a quick fellow, physically or mentally =)
I was thinking about the way I did skills, and yeah, what I did WAS cheap. But since I'm playing a low int PC and fighters get 2+int skill points/level, I really didn't want to have no actual skills, making him basically only good at hitting shit.

Re: Desert of Desolation - Vernon Strugg
Fair points.
I'm sure Trom wouldn't mind if you went 50 or so GP over purchasing some breastplate armour though, but yes, I don't suppose it'll take too long to get something better.
The low INT (not being a human) thing is a bit of a killer, but really, with 8 INT you get 1 skill point a level as a fighter and with 7, you get 1 skill point a level as a fighter, so not too much of a trade off really.
It's just rogue, 7 skill points or 6. You'll probably just have to pick up the odd thief level here and there to get yourself competitive out of combat.
Inside combat, the guy will be fine. Obviously ranged combat is both his strength and his weakness - since he couldn't deal with a real archer/wizard, but in time (with extra attacks and magical bolts) stuff should eventually even out.
When charged down though, he's laughing.. also, his survivability is high with okay saves and great HP. Just need to knock the AC up one or two places, but not too many so that he's unkillable (which unbalances shit with the other melee PCs).
Anyhow.
Looks good, end of the day, stats mean fuck all, it's all about how fun they are to use
