Re: Sword Coast - Limnoch the Ever Living
"The wizard must choose whether to specialize and, if she does so, choose her specialty at 1st level. At this time, she must also give up two other schools of magic (unless she chooses to specialize in divination; see below), which become her prohibited schools."
Re: Sword Coast - Limnoch the Ever Living
That is my doing, not Trom's. I dislike the 3.5 simplistic school specialisation stuff, since they then released extra rules for specialists which totally break everything (no one would ever be a normal specialist again).
Anyway, I said go back to 3.0 rules, which were better, cos made more sense and had a little more choice in the progress.
I mean, apart from the one extra spell, which you could munch out in various ways if you want it, specialists pretty much just *lose*, especially with weaker schools such as abjuration and necromancy.
.. and lets face it, from a power perspective, everyone might as well be diviners now, cos you get the most for the least.
Well spotted though =)
